One-For-One Campaign: 2020
Goal (completed):
$10,000 goal was set by our partner, Vestergaard-LifeStraw, for the Emergency Clean Water Fund to provide filters in Central America. For every dollar donated, Replenish matched up to $5,000.
As a result of hurricanes Eta and Iota, the people in Central America were in desperate need of clean water. In partnership with LifeStraw we helped provide large capacity filters to communities hit hard by the floods. Together, we were able to help meet that goal! To God be the glory for our shared mission, and may the people be blessed as we demonstrated God's love through our gift of clean water!
Lifetime LifeStraw: 2021-present
Goal (ongoing):
the “lifetime lifestraw” project goal is to continue to visit and monitor all schools in Homa Bay County to assure that each lifestraw is operational and effective.
Summary:
Replenish and LifeStraw have formed a partnership for the facilities in Homa Bay County. This agreement was created for the purpose of assuring the sustainability of clean water resources for these schools, clinics, and churches. This program includes LifeStraw Community filters, delivery, training, components, maintenance, and support. The LifeStraw team schedules regular visits to each facility and provides Term Reports to Replenish throughout the year.
Island Campaign: 2017-2020
Goal (completed):
all schools on Mfangano Island, Kenya will have access to clean water by 2020. GOAL ACHIEVED in 2019!
Mfangano Island is a remote island in Lake Victoria, Kenya. This lake is the source of water for the entire population and is highly contaminated. We have partnered with the county government and school headmasters in the region to support the education program through placement of water filtrations systems in the schools and churches. Through this campaign, our goal was to provide clean water access to every school on Mfangano Island by 2020. To God’s glory, we have reached this goal! Our in-country support team continues to monitor the filters for continued effectiveness.
Water and the Word-Phases 1-3:
2017-2021
Goal (phase 3-completed): providing lifestraw community in churches during the pandemic to demonstrate the love of god by providing clean water in the name of our living water, jesus.
Goal (phase 1 & 2-completed): Providing Bible translations in regional native languages along with water filters.
Our purpose for the Water & the Word Campaign was to support literacy and scripture translation efforts in conjunction with providing clean water resources to churches in remote villages in Kenya. These churches were identified and prioritized by Ministry of Education and the BTL in Nairobi, Kenya to receive the support. Water and the Word was initiated in 2017, and to date, we have supported efforts in Lake Victoria, areas surrounding Homa Bay as well as areas surrounding Nairobi, Kenya.
The initial translation project was coordinated with The Seed Company as the outreach included providing Bible translations in native Suba language along with LifeStraw water filtration systems in area churches. Phase 2 of this project was completed with the in-country support of BTL Kenya, and LifeStraw Nairobi.
During the pandemic, schools were closed, but as many churches and clinics were open, Water and the Word entered Phase 3 to assure that communities still received access to clean water. This project included eleven churches on the priority list provided by BTL as well as churches and clinics prioritized by LifeStraw Nairobi.
